You may think she is just distracted
It’s okay you don’t actually know
Sometimes silly and hyperactive
At least that is what may show
She doesn’t react to what your saying sometimes
Do you think she understands?
Does she not want to talk to me?
Is that what she is motioning with her hands?
Feeling pain different than you or me
Is she really okay?
Ask her a question she may not answer
You wonder why she is this way
You notice she is also shy somedays
Is definitely one of a kind
Certain things don’t bother her today
On others a problem she may find
She talks through almost everything
But please know not to annoy you
A loss of attention needing more action
Doing the best she can do
She is a very loyal, true friend
Has a hard time letting go
She will likley run and hide
Than let her feelings show
She hates being smothered with hugs
And will not hold your hand
She has a need to be free
Eventually you will understand
She may have a hard time with empathy
But has a heart of gold
She can crack me up sometimes
Trust me, it never gets old
Challenges she does have
Just part of her disability
She has Autism
And also ADHD
Please dont let that define Her
Avoid to judge, bully or be unkind
To someone who seems different
She is uniqly wonderful you will find
In so many ways you will see
Of my life, such a huge part
I am uniqly honored to witness who she will grow to be
A special person, you are so very close to my heart
