This is a piece I wrote about my experience with my chronic illness life. I wanted to share it not only to gain awareness for chronic illness but to also let others know they are not alone in navigating life with these struggles.
USURPER
If I could put a name
to the face of my pain
It would have to be very real
Be discriptive enough to explain just how I feel
Maybe SPONTANIOUS
Because I never know what to expect
DEFIANT
Lacking in all respect
Or how about CHRONIC
Because she is always there
INCONSIDERATE
She certainly does not care
INTRUDER
For being able to break up my day
SNEAKY
Creeping up on me some way
CONTROLING
I feel like she is in charge of me
SADNESS
Because sometimes I think this is how I will always be
MADNESS
For making me feel a stranger in my own skin
REFLECTION
I keep seeing her again and again
CONFUSION
Why is she to visit everyday
STALKER
Because I cant shake her, I think shes here to stay
DABILITATOR
Cause she can definatly keep me down
GRAVITY
Good at bringing me, my smile to a frown
LIGHTNING
Strinking me, as it does the air, just like a knife
USURER
She has definatly taken over.
